Today there’s a nationwide celebration of reading. More than half a million children in more than 3,000 locations including schools, public libraries, kindergartens, childcare centres, bookshops and homes across Australia will have the same book read to them at 11am.
It’s ALIA”s National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) which is an annual event that aims to encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books. Click here for events.
This year the book featured will be I Got This Hat by Jol and Kate Temple, illustrated by Jon Foye and published by ABC Books, an imprint of HarperCollins Children’s Books. It’s a funny, rhyming tale about the surprisingly large world of hats.

Over the last couple of weeks we have been getting to know each other and coming up with things that we value in our class. He is a copy of our start-up brochure that was sent home.
Welcome all students and parents to our class blog. I will be using this space throughout the year to update you and your family about all the cool things we are doing in our class. This term we are learning about the Human Body. We and working hard this term to make new friends and to have fun with our learning. Feel free to comment on any posts you see.
